KazMunayGas has begun developing the Central Urikhtau field in the Aktobe Region and plans to start production by the end of 2026. The field will initially produce up to 200 million cubic meters of raw gas annually, with capacity later expected to reach one billion cubic meters, Orda.kz reports.

According to Samruk-Kazyna, preparations have been completed. A gas collection and transportation system is under construction, new wells are being equipped, and materials and equipment are being delivered to the site.

KazMunayGas previously said it expected the field to reach annual production of one billion cubic meters by the end of 2027.

Raw gas cannot be supplied directly to consumers. It will be processed at the Zhanazhol oil and gas processing complex to produce market-ready natural gas, liquefied petroleum gas, stable gas condensate and granulated sulfur.

Development of the Eastern Urikhtau field is also continuing. Oil and gas treatment facilities, power systems and other infrastructure are being built there.

Eastern Urikhtau has been in commercial production since November 2023. It produced 79 million cubic meters of gas in 2025.
