Kazakhstan will launch an artificial rainfall project in the Turkestan region, Orda.kz reports, citing Akorda.
The project was discussed during Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s meeting with Abdullah Al-Mandus, president of the World Meteorological Organization and director general of the UAE National Center of Meteorology.
The initiative is being implemented jointly with the UAE. Its full-scale launch is scheduled for May 17.
According to Akorda, Kazakhstan has become the first country in the region to move to the practical use of artificial rainfall technologies to improve water levels in reservoirs and support agriculture.
