Kazakhstan is strengthening its airspace surveillance after an incident involving an object resembling an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) of unknown origin in the West Kazakhstan region, Orda.kz reports.

Debris resembling a drone was found today in the Borili District. According to the Ministry of Defense, the object crashed in the steppe far from any populated areas.

No one was injured, and no damage was reported.

The origin of the object is being verified together with other government agencies,
 the Defense Ministry stated.
Authorities have begun discussions with foreign partners to understand where the object may be from.
Additional measures were also taken to strengthen control over airspace and prevent unauthorized crossing of the state border by aircraft.

Residents of the village of Qyzyltal in West Kazakhstan earlier reported hearing an explosion on the morning of October 23. Fragments found at the site included a Ukrainian-language warning reading, “Do not touch, moving part.”

Local media also reported that an air raid alert was issued that same day in Russia’s neighboring Orenburg region, citing a possible UAV attack threat.
