Kazakhstani teenagers will no longer need to personally visit a military enlistment office to register for service. Starting October 28, the Ministry of Defense will automatically register young men for military service on their 17th birthday, Orda.kz reports.
According to the new regulations on conscription and military registration, the process will occur without personal participation by the citizen.
As stated in Order No. 1427 of the Ministry of Defense, signed on October 13, 2025, the system will automatically create an electronic registration card for each young man turning 17.
The digital system will collect data from government databases — including IIN, full name, date and place of birth, education, marital status, driver’s license, and residence registration. It will also verify health records, disabilities, medical treatment history, and any criminal cases, investigations, or convictions.
Afterward, the individual’s card will automatically receive the “pre-conscription” status, and the appropriate local military registration authority will be determined by the address of registration.
Once the data is entered, district and municipal enlistment offices will include the information in alphabetical registers. The rules officially come into force on October 28, 2025.
The Ministry of Defense earlier announced a new stage of digitalization for the armed forces — including the ability for citizens to select military units online.
