Kazakhstan Sets Uranium Production and Sales Records

Kazatomprom CEO Meirzhan Yussupov briefed President Qasym-Jomart Toqayev on the national company’s record-breaking uranium production and sales in 2024, Orda.kz reports, citing Aqorda.
Key Figures from Kazatomprom’s Performance:
- 23,000 tons of uranium mined
- 16,600 tons of uranium sold
- 1.8 trillion tenge in sales revenue (a company record)
- 720 billion tenge paid in taxes
Yussupov also highlighted the full-capacity launch of the Ulba-TVS nuclear fuel production facility, which reached its output target of 200 tons of low-enriched uranium in 2024.
In 2024, Kazatomprom secured new uranium exploration licenses for promising sites with an estimated resource potential of 170,000 tons, said Meirzhan Yussupov.
Looking ahead, the company plans to increase uranium production in 2025 to 25,000–26,500 tons, representing a 7–14% increase over the previous year.
