Deputy Chair of the Financial Monitoring Agency (FMA) Zhenis Yelemesov has spoken about the criminal case involving Nurzhan Nurlanov, the son of former Majilis Speaker Nurlan Nigmatulin, reports Orda.kz.
The case is being investigated by the Department of Economic Investigations in Almaty.
The case has been suspended due to the sending of an international investigative request. He (Nurlanov. – Ed.) has the status of a witness, since we have not received responses to our international requests. Once information regarding our request is received, the status will be determined,
Yelemesov told reporters in the Senate.
The case was originally opened by the Ministry of Internal Affairs under the article “Arbitrariness” before being transferred to the FMA.
