Deputy Prosecutor General Comments on Cases Involving Relatives of Former Majilis Speaker

Deputy Prosecutor General Galymzhan Koigeldiyev has commented on the ongoing criminal cases involving relatives of former Majilis speaker Nurlan Nigmatulin, Orda.kz reports.
At this stage, only statements have been filed against Nigmatulin’s son, Nurzhan Nurlanov, and his brother, Yerlan Nigmatulin.
It's too early to say anything,Koigeldiyev said in the corridors of the Senate, declining to clarify their current status.
Later, the press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office stated that Nurzhan Nurlanov has not yet been assigned any status in the arbitrariness case.
The eldest member of the family, Argyn Nigmatulin, is under suspicion for embezzling public funds allocated to a hockey club in the Qaraganda region.
Koigeldiyev confirmed that Argyn remains wanted.
The Prosecutor General's Office is considering Argyn's case on the fact of theft of budget funds allocated in the Qaraganda region for a hockey club. He is on the international wanted list. Once we establish his location, the issue of his extradition will be considered.
It was recently revealed that Yerlan Nigmatulin is suspected of extortion. A pre-trial investigation has been launched following a complaint by businessman Ramis Ibragimov.
