Kazakhstan has taken an essential step in strengthening economic ties with the UAE: the first train with wheat was sent from the country's territory towards the port of Jebel Ali, Orda.kz reports.
According to JSC NC Qazaqstan Temir Joly, on May 12, the first train with Kazakh wheat departed for the United Arab Emirates:
The route runs through the territory of Turkmenistan and Iran, with subsequent transshipment in the port of Bandar Abbas and delivery by sea to the UAE. The average travel time is 18 days.
The final destination was the Arabian port of Jebel Ali in Dubai. The trader was IK Trading, which has its headquarters there.
We deliver to Türkiye, Egypt, Southeast Asia, Asia, the Far East, the Middle East, North America and South America by air, sea, rail and land transport, and also supply various goods from Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan,
is written in the company description on their website.
Kazakhstan is confident that this is not just the export of one grain batch, but a strategic step in developing new logistics corridors between Eurasia and the Middle East.
The deal results from efforts to expand trade and economic cooperation between Kazakhstan and the UAE. This route is expected to open up new opportunities for export and strengthen the country's position as a major grain supplier in the region.
In addition, domestic wheat recently went to Norway and Morocco for the first time.
Recently, we wrote about the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi flying to Astana. Following negotiations, the countries signed ten agreements and memoranda, including one on constructing a wind power plant in Kazakhstan.
