Pavlodar eleventh-grader Igor Martynyuk has become the first school student from Central Asia to receive a full grant to take part in Y Combinator’s YC Startup School, Orda.kz reports.
YC Startup School is considered one of the world’s most prestigious startup education programs and focuses on developing early-stage tech projects.
Martynyuk independently developed TabAI, an AI-based assistant that analyzes users’ digital activity, helps structure tasks, and manages workflows, the ministry said. The system was created to reduce information overload and improve personal productivity.
The startup also secured a $35,000 angel investment, as well as a Google grant for infrastructure development.
In addition, Martynyuk became an ambassador for Cursor, one of the fastest-growing AI startups. In this role, he will help develop the developer community in Kazakhstan and Central Asia, and organize hackathons, meetups, and educational events.
