Kazakhstanis may be allowed to carry musical instruments in the cabin. The Civil Aviation Committee is preparing changes to baggage rules, Orda.kz reports.
The agency plans to formally regulate the transportation of musical instruments on board. According to Deputy Transport Minister Talgat Lastaev, the committee is now working on clear rules for all airlines.
The Civil Aviation Committee has been tasked with regulating the transportation of musical instruments, including the dombra. I think that in the near future we will make the necessary changes to the rules for the carriage of passengers, cargo and baggage so that it is clear and understandable for passengers how to transport a musical instrument.he said.
According to him, the new requirements will be the same for all airlines.
These will be general rules to resolve this issue. There are requests from society, and there have already been precedents related to the transportation of musical instruments. Therefore, the Civil Aviation Committee is now working actively on this.the deputy transport minister noted.
At the same time, officials are discussing which musical instruments can be transported in the cabin. The decision will depend on their size and on the procedure for notifying the airline in advance.
According to Lastaev, a final decision may be worked out within a month. If the changes are approved, the new rules will come into force in May.
