Kazakhstan’s Energy Ministry has denied reports of liquefied petroleum gas shortages in the Mangistau and Atyrau regions, Orda.kz reports.

Earlier, drivers reported queues at gas stations and a tense situation with autogas supplies in the two western regions.

The ministry said supplies to both regions remain stable and exceed estimated monthly demand.

In June, the Mangistau region received 19,500 tons of liquefied gas, while declared demand stood at 18,000 tons. An additional 1,500 tons were sent from JSC SNPS-Aktobemunaigas to cover seasonal growth in demand.

In the Atyrau region, estimated demand is 9,000 tons. Because of planned maintenance at the Atyrau Oil Refinery, the ministry said it changed the supply scheme in advance and sent reserve volumes to the region. In June, Atyrau received more than 11,600 tons of gas, over 2,500 tons above the required volume.

The ministry said these reserves are enough for both local and transit vehicles, and that fuel is being shipped daily.

It also denied that local disruptions could be linked to reduced production at the Karachaganak field. According to the ministry, planned work at the field does not affect domestic supplies, and the situation remains under constant control of the ministry and local authorities.
