Kazakhstan has begun intercepting fraudulent calls using special software, Kazakhtelecom board chairman Bagdat Musin said, Orda.kz reports.
Speaking at a meeting of the fund’s public council chaired by Bolat Zhamishev, he said the system analyzes calls based on specific indicators and redirects suspicious ones to call centers created jointly with the Prosecutor General’s Office.
According to Musin, about 6% of such calls are currently being intercepted.
We have developed special software that identifies fraudulent calls by signatures and directs them to the relevant call centers. Now we intercept about 6% of such calls.he said.
He also noted that full coverage would require a major increase in staffing, so the company is focusing on technology.
To intercept 100% of calls, we would need to expand almost 20-fold. There are now about 100 people working in the call centers, and such a large increase would not be practical. That is why we are developing artificial intelligence models that can process such calls automatically and protect citizens.he added.
At the same time, Musin said the problem cannot be solved completely, because fraudsters are constantly changing their schemes.
