The Kazakhmys company has ruled out the possibility of a mine collapse, Orda.kz reports.
On February 17, a natural gas release occurred at the Zhomart mine in the Ulytau region, killing seven miners.
The mine was subsequently closed, and an investigation was launched.
Initially, a rock collapse version was considered, but this was not confirmed after the work of emergency rescue teams. The Kazakhmys company ruled out the collapse version, confirming that the cause of the tragedy was a natural gas release.
After the rescue teams descended, it was found that there were no collapses. An analysis of the causes of the incident related to the release of natural gas is underway, the company said in a statement.
