Ramzan Kadyrov has confirmed that a Ukrainian drone struck the Grozny City complex, damaging one of its high-rise buildings, Orda.kz reports, citing The Caucausian Knot.
He said no casualties were reported and promised that repairs would be carried out quickly.
Such actions are nothing more than attempts to intimidate the civilian population and create the illusion of pressure. Those who are incapable of achieving success on the battlefield try to compensate for their own weakness by attacking civilian targets. An attack on a high-rise building is a clear sign of incompetence, Kadyrov wrote, adding that he would personally respond to the enemy soon.
Footage shared online earlier showed fire and torn exterior panels across several floors of the tower. The incident was discussed at a meeting between Kadyrov and security officials.
While Kadyrov commented on the Grozny City strike, Chechen authorities have not addressed separate reports that drones also hit security facilities in Gudermes and Achkhoy-Martan on the same night.
Opposition channels published images of damaged buildings, and ASTRA reported that two FSB officers were injured in Achkhoy-Martan.
ASTRA also reported that the high-rise building of the Grozny-City business center houses the Security Council of Chechnya, the accounting chamber, the election commission, and other government agencies.
Chechnya has experienced several drone incidents since late 2024, including strikes on the Russian University of Special Forces in Gudermes and Interior Ministry facilities in Grozny.
More drones were shot down in the region in August 2025.
