Investigation Into Former Health Insurance Fund Deputy Chair Still Ongoing — Social Health Insurance Fund Head

Aidyn Kulseitov, Chair of the Board of the Social Health Insurance Fund, told journalists that the organization’s internal structures are continuing to investigate the case of former deputy chair Galymzhan Abilov, Orda.kz reports.
The investigation into Abilov, a former deputy head of the Federal Compulsory Medical Insurance Fund, began on March 20. At the time, the Anti-Corruption Committee announced that the case concerned the embezzlement of budget funds intended for the treatment of residents in the East Kazakhstan region.
According to Kulseitov, an investigative team from the Prosecutor General's Office has been working at the fund since May 2.
Forty-six people are examining documents, conducting questioning, and carrying out investigative work,
he said.
Kulseitov declined to say whether additional individuals had been detained, citing restrictions on releasing investigative details.

In June, an Anti-Corruption investigator working on the Abilov case was detained for accepting a bribe.
