Investigation Completed in Case of Attack on Shymkent Deputy Akim

The Shymkent prosecutor’s office has completed the investigation into the shooting of Deputy Akim Ruslan Berdenov, Orda.kz reports.
The case is now at the stage of familiarization by the involved parties and is expected to be transferred to the court in the near future.
“The investigation has been completed, the parties have begun to familiarize themselves with the materials. After that, the case will be sent to court, approximately next month,” According to the prosecutor’s office.
Orda.kz also reached out to the city administration to clarify whether Ruslan Berdenov had resumed his official duties. The press service reported that he has not yet returned to work.
The incident occurred on April 21, when Ruslan Berdenov was shot five times near the city administration building. The suspect, Yernar Zhiembay, was identified as a former employee who had previously worked under Berdenov.
In May, Berdenov made his first public comments following the incident, thanking the medical team and sharing details about his recovery.
