Interior Ministry Confirms Transferring Criminal Case Involving Nurzhan Nurlanov to Financial Monitoring Agency

The Ministry of Internal Affairs is no longer handling the criminal case involving Nurzhan Nurlanov, son of former Majilis Chair Nurlan Nigmatulin. Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Sanzhar Adilov announced the update on the sidelines of the Majilis on April 16, Orda.kz reports.
According to Adilov, the investigation has been transferred to the Financial Monitoring Agency (FMA).
The Ministry of Internal Affairs is not investigating at the moment. The case has been transferred by the prosecutor's office to the Financial Monitoring Agency. I cannot give details because specific information on the criminal case is not subject to disclosure. Moreover, the criminal case is being handled by another agency,
Adilov said during a briefing at the Majilis.
Earlier, the FMA confirmed that a criminal case regarding raiding was opened based on a complaint involving Nurzhan Nurlanov.
However, Nurlanov does not currently have an official status in the case.
