Criminal Case Opened in Connection with Complaint Against Nurzhan Nurlanov, FMA Confirms

The Financial Monitoring Agency has confirmed that a criminal case has been initiated following a complaint involving Nurzhan Nurlanov, the son of former Majilis Speaker Nurlan Nigmatulin, Orda.kz reports.
The case concerns allegations of raiding and is currently under investigation by the Almaty Department of Economic Investigations.
We confirm that the Department of Economic Development of the City of Almaty is investigating a criminal case on the fact of raiding. Other information in accordance with Article 201 of the Criminal Procedure Code is not disclosed,the FMA press service reports.
According to available case materials, no suspects have been formally identified.
This means that Nurzhan Nurlanov has not been charged and holds no official status in the proceedings.
Earlier reports in the media mentioned that a complaint had been filed against Nurlanov.
At the time, the allegations were described as possible arbitrariness.
