"In Connection With The Escalation of The Situation Around Ukraine," - Toqayev Ordered to Take Measures to Ensure Security
The Presidential Press Secretary, Berik Uali, wrote about this on Facebook, Orda.kz reports.
The Head of Kazakhstan instructed the Prime Minister, the head of the Presidential Administration, the leadership of law enforcement agencies, and the Akims to take urgent measures to ensure the security of critical military and civilian facilities in connection with the escalation of the situation around Ukraine.
The chairpersons of the chambers of parliament have also been informed.
For our state, the main strategic goal is to maintain stability, peace, law and order. Kazakhstan has repeatedly advocated for a solution to the matter of ending hostilities between the two Slavic peoples through negotiations, the message says.
The state of affairs in the country is under the President's personal supervision.
Before this, Russian Vladimir Putin issued an emergency statement to his nation.
He commented on the US permission for Ukraine to attack Russian territory with long-range weapons. Putin said that the Ukrainian Armed Forces had already attacked Russia with ATACMS missiles, claiming that, after this, "the conflict has acquired elements of a global character."
