Illegal Pony-Ride Operators Accused of Animal Cruelty in Burabay

Visitors to Burabay National Park have raised concerns on social media about the treatment of animals used for tourist rides, Orda.kz reports.
A Threads user said the ponies used to carry visitors around the park appeared to be in very poor condition.
Just look at their sunken eyes. From what I saw, they are clearly being overworked. There was also a camel that refused to move, but they continued forcing it forward,the post said.
The national park’s press service said the operators were working without authorization.
The activities of the operators providing these services are illegal. No one has given them permission, but they continue to operate,the park said.
