President Qasym-Jomart Toqayev met with Adylbek Kasymalieyev, who serves as both the Head of the Presidential Administration and Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan, Orda reports.
The meeting covered a wide range of topics.
Among them were strategic partnerships between the countries and implementing previously reached agreements.
Key points:
- Expand bilateral trade volumes
- Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan should work on improving conditions for transit and transportation
- Priority must be given to joint investment projects and cooperation in the water and energy sector
They specifically discussed the launch of a trade and logistics complex on the Kazakh-Kyrgyz border, emphasizing the need to launch it as soon as possible.
Toqayev signed the law on the construction of this hub back in September 2024.
The complex will operate in the area of the "Karasu" road checkpoint (on the Kazakhstani side) and "Ak-Tilek" (on the Kyrgyz side).
