Government Commission Arrives at Kazakhmys Mine Incident Site

A government commission headed by Deputy Prime Minister Kanat Bozumbayev has arrived at the site of the fatal mine collapse in Ulytau region, where emergency response teams, police investigators, and officials from various ministries are currently working, Orda reports.
The commission includes Akim of the Ulytau region Dastan Ryspekov, Minister of Emergency Situations Chingis Arinov, First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Bauyrzhan Alenov, First Vice Minister of Labor and Social Protection Akmadi Sarbasov, Vice Minister of Health Yerzhan Nurlybayev, Vice Minister of Industry and Construction Iran Sharhan, Acting Chairman of the Industrial Safety Committee of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan Rashid Dubayev, the government press service reported.
After inspecting the site and reviewing the investigation's progress, Bozumbayev is scheduled to hold a headquarters meeting and meet with the victims' families.
The incident occurred on February 17 at the Zhomart mine in the Zhanaarkinsky district, where a rock collapse, reportedly caused by a natural gas explosion, claimed the lives of seven miners.
All bodies have been recovered and identified:
- Akshalov Kairat Amanbekovich, 50 years old - pump operator
- Zhakubaev Ardak Boranbayevich, 27 years old - underground mining master
- Zhumadullayev Bakytbek Nyshanovich, 50 years old - underground miner
- Kenzhebekov Orynbek Amirkhanuly, 34 years old - loading and delivery machine operator
- Moldabekov Galimzhan Yesenbekovich, 47 years old - assistant driller
- Nuruldayev Olzhas Zhagalbayevich, 46 years old - underground section power engineer
- Rozhkov Konstantin Vladimirovich, 33 years old - electrical fitter
