Kazakh fuel supplies to the Russian Orenburg Gas Processing Plant had been halted following the Ukrainian drone attack. The plant has now resumed receiving gas from the Karachaganak field, according to the Ministry of Energy, Orda.kz reports.

The ministry stated that gas production at the field is being restored to levels seen before the October 19 attack. Officials referred to the strike on the Orenburg plant as an “incident.”

At the same time, the Ministry of Energy emphasized once again that the attack did not affect domestic gas supplies. The ministry also reminded that the construction of Kazakhstan’s own gas processing plant is underway:

The construction of a dedicated gas processing plant at Karachaganak is a strategic priority. It has been decided that the project will be implemented by JSC NC KazMunayGas. Negotiations are currently underway with the Karachaganak project participants to agree on the technical parameters for connecting the future plant to the existing field infrastructure.

The Ukrainian drone strike on the Orenburg Gas Processing Plant occurred last Saturday.

The damage was significant enough to halt operations, including the intake of raw gas from Kazakhstan’s Karachaganak field, which is processed at the facility.
