The Financial Monitoring Agency (FMA) is conducting a pre-trial investigation into theft within the Kazakhstan Football Federation (KFF), but its former president, Alidet Barmenkulov, is not a suspect, Orda.kz reports.
This was confirmed by FMA Deputy Chair, Zhenis Yelemesov, in the corridors of the Senate. He refuted claims that Barmenkulov had been officially named a suspect.
In fact, we have a criminal case against the Kazakhstan Football Federation for theft. At the moment, I cannot disclose other data from the pre-trial investigation. I can only disclose the data from the pre-trial investigation that has been agreed upon with the Prosecutor's Office. We have not recognized Barmenkulov as a suspect at the moment. He has not been charged with any crime,
he stated.
Recently, the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan conducted inspections of the KFF, as well as the football clubs Ordabasy, Aqtobe, and Jetisu.
