The fire at the Kavkazskaya oil pumping station in Russia’s Krasnodar Krai, which broke out after a Ukrainian drone strike on March 19, has finally been extinguished, Orda.kz reports.
The regional emergency headquarters confirmed the news on March 25:
The area of operations has not changed — the hotspot remains localized within 1,250 square meters. A so-called ‘foam attack’ is being carried out to prevent reignition and fully extinguish the fire, the statement said.
The blaze, which covered roughly 10,000 square meters, took nearly a week to put out.
Kavkazskaya is a key facility in the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) system. According to the consortium, oil shippers routed no less than 130,000 tons of crude through the station each month.
The incident follows a March 24 report of another drone strike — this time on the Kropotkinskaya pumping station, also part of the CPC system.
It was the second attack on that facility since mid-February.
