Dry grass caught fire in the mountains of the Yenbekshikazakh District, Orda.kz reports, citing the regional Emergency Situations Department.
The fire broke out on state-owned land in the Baktiyar Sai area, about 10 kilometers from the village of Baydibek Bi.
Seventy people and 15 vehicles are involved in the response. An Emergency Situations Ministry helicopter has dropped 51 tons of water on the fire.
Hot and windy weather is making the operation more difficult.
