Fire at Alel Agro Facility Leaves One Dead, Investigation Underway

A fire broke out at the Alel Agro enterprise in Tuimebay village, Ile district, Almaty region, killing one person, Orda.kz reports.
The blaze engulfed a 450 sq. meter canteen building on the factory grounds. According to the Emergency Department, 42 rescuers, 14 units of equipment, and personnel from military, police, and medical services responded.
A body was discovered by smoke protection teams; their identity is still unknown.
Authorities launched a criminal case under Article 292, Part 2 of the Criminal Code — violation of fire safety requirements resulting in death. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Alel Agro is one of Kazakhstan’s largest agro-industrial holdings. Galimzhan Yessenov owns ≈44%, Margulan Seisembayev ≈21%, and Saule Seisembayeva ≈13%, according to Forbes.
Earlier, prosecutors helped Alel Agro secure 87 hectares for a poultry farm in the Jambyl region.
