Expanded Format: Qasym-Jomart Toqayev and Emmanuel Macron Held Talks

Qasym-Jomart Toqayev and Emmanuel Macron held expanded talks. Toqayev emphasized the importance of the strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and France and noted the exhibition of Kazakh history in Paris.
I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate you on the successful holding of the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris. They have become a truly grand event in the world of sports, their organization impressed with its scale and high level of organization, Toqayev addressed Macron.
He also recalled the French leader's visit to Astana last fall. Macron was then presented with Tazi puppies. Qasym-Jomart Toqayev said that the visit was essential for strengthening relations between the countries.
Kazakhstan and France closely cooperate in the international arena, together promoting the ideas of peace and sustainable development within the framework of multilateral platforms. France is one of the largest trading partners and leading investors in the economy of Kazakhstan. More than 200 companies and joint ventures with the participation of French capital are successfully operating in our country today. We are grateful to the captains of French business for their work,
the Kazakh leader said.
They discussed cooperation in various areas, including education and medicine, and touched upon issues on the regional and international agenda.
The French President noted the importance of relations that have been developing at the strategic partnership level since 2008. He said bilateral cooperation has proven its importance and relevance during this time.
Emmanuel Macron stressed that both countries share similar views on key regional and international issues.
Their interaction is based on the principles enshrined in the UN Charter: respect for states' territorial integrity and protection of human rights.
He also stressed the importance of jointly combating global challenges such as climate change and terrorism, calling them priorities for France and Kazakhstan. He expressed confidence that strengthening the partnership would open up new growth and sustainable development prospects, creating a solid foundation for long-term cooperation.
Following the meeting, a Joint Declaration was adopted, emphasizing the importance of strengthening strategic ties between the countries. A total of 36 agreements were signed: one intergovernmental document, 21 interdepartmental, and 14 commercial ones, totaling more than $2.2 billion.

- Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the French Republic on readmission;
- Roadmap for the strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and France on critical resources and materials;
- Partnership Agreement on strategic cooperation between JSC National Welfare Fund Samruk-Kazyna and Société Generale SA;
- Agreement on strategic cooperation on 6-axle electric locomotives between JSC National Company Kazakhstan Temir Joly and Alstom Transport SA;
- Protocol of the agreement on cooperation in archaeology between the A. H. Margulan Institute of Archaeology and the National Institute for Preventive Archaeological Research (INRAP).
