The Ministry of Emergency Situations has ordered the formation of a special commission following the latest incident at the Bolashak mine, Orda.kz reports.
On May 26, a fire broke out at a mine operated by the Donskoy Mining and Processing Plant. Several miners sustained burns, and two remain in intensive care.
In response, Vice Minister for Emergency Situations Serik Tulenbergenov and Deputy Chairman of the Industrial Safety Committee Kengirbay Yeseneyev traveled to the Aqtobe Region.
A commission has been created to investigate the accident at the Bolashak mine. The commission will establish the circumstances and causes. Due to repeated hydrogen emissions and in order to ensure the safety of workers, a decision was made to temporarily suspend all work at the mine,
stated the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
Specialists from research institutes will participate in the investigation to determine the technical and safety-related causes.
This is not the first emergency at the Bolashak mine, which is part of the Donskoy GOK. A previous fire occurred in February, injuring four miners. One of the injured workers died a month later.
The mine is owned by Kazchrome, a subsidiary of the Eurasian Resources Group (ERG).
