Emergency Ministry Defends Costly Cybertruck Purchase

Deputy Emergency Situations Minister Yerbolat Sadyrbayev explained the purchase of an expensive Tesla Cybertruck electric pickup amid the country’s budget deficit, Orda.kz reports.
Sadyrbayev said the electric vehicle has already proven effective in emergency response operations in Almaty.
According to him, local authorities in Almaty have purchased only one vehicle so far. It cost 120 million tenge.
This equipment has proved quite effective. The ministry deals specifically with cases where people need urgent help and every minute counts. The Tesla Cybertruck has justified itself during responses to various emergencies. We are talking about saving people’s lives. As for further purchases, the ministry is pursuing a policy of renewing its equipment fleet and focusing on efficiency,Sadyrbayev said.
