The Kropotkinskaya oil pumping station, through which Kazakhstan's oil from Tengiz flows, was attacked by drones, Orda.kz reports.
The Caspian Pipeline Consortium's press service stated that on February 17, seven drones loaded with explosives and metal striking elements carried out a "terrorist strike" on the station.
The affiliation of the drones was not specified.
The CPC emphasized that the strike was carried out in such a way as not only to disrupt the operation of the station but also to kill or injure its personnel.
There were no casualties among the NPS personnel. Through prompt, coordinated actions, the consortium's employees were able to prevent the threat of an oil spill, the CPC statement said.
Several managers headed by CEO Nikolay Gorban went to the scene.
The station is temporarily out of service, and oil is being pumped through the Tengiz-Novorossiysk pipeline at reduced rates, bypassing Kropotkinskaya.
The Kropotkinskaya oil pumping station, located in the Krasnodar region of the Russian Federation, is the largest station of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium for pumping oil in Russia.
All shareholders of the international consortium, including representatives of companies from the USA and Europe, have been notified of the terrorist attack on a civilian facility by means of UAVs and its results, added the consortium's press service.
In December last year, drones struck a loading point for the Druzhba oil pipeline in the Bryansk region of Russia.
