Nurasyl Bolat, the son of Majilis deputy Daulet Turlykhanov, has withdrawn his petition to replace the remainder of his prison sentence with a more lenient form of punishment, Orda.kz reports.
The update was shared by lawyer Anna Chernova, who represents the injured party, via her Instagram page.
The Alatau District Court in Almaty was scheduled to review Bolat's request to replace his prison term with a fine.
However, the defense pointed out inconsistencies in the case documents. According to lawyer Nazken Kusainova, a key error was made in the character reference submitted by the correctional facility: Bolat was reportedly listed as serving a seven-year sentence instead of the actual two-year term.
The defense also voiced concern that information about Bolat’s petition had been made public.
They withdrew the petition. The well-known Nazken Kusanova has come forward again – she says that we allegedly distributed materials to the whole world, some correspondence and also, God knows what she imagined there,
commented Anna Chernova during the hearing.
She rejected accusations of leaking case materials, stating that she did not have access to them.
The court left the petition without consideration following Bolat’s voluntary withdrawal.
In October 2024, a court revoked Bolat’s probation and replaced one year, five months, and 10 days of his suspended sentence with real imprisonment.
The decision came after he was seen attending blogger Aray Isakova’s birthday party, despite being on probation following an assault case involving lawyers Oleg and Anna Chernov.
The incident occurred on the night of February 11, 2023, in a parking lot near an Almaty shopping center. Bolat was convicted of assaulting his then-girlfriend and the Chernovs, who had intervened to protect her.
