The Kropotkinskaya oil pumping station of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC), which was damaged in a Ukrainian drone strike in February, has completed repairs and is now operating as usual, Orda.kz reports.
According to the CPC, the facility was restarted on May 23 after restoration work was finalized. Repairs included transformers, a gas turbine unit with generators, and other equipment that had been damaged in the attack.
The consortium noted that a criminal case has been opened in Russia regarding the incident, and an investigation is ongoing.
The Kropotkinskaya station, located in the Krasnodar region, was struck by seven Ukrainian drones on February 17. No one was harmed, and the threat of an oil spill was averted. While the CPC pipeline transports Kazakhstan's oil, including from the Tengiz field, through Russian territory, the attack did not significantly affect export volumes.
The Kazakh Ministry of Foreign Affairs gave only a brief comment on Kazakhstan's position regarding the incident.
