The Ministry of Defense has reported the discovery of the body of Aman Amangeldy, the assistant captain of the EC-145 military helicopter that disappeared from radar more than two weeks ago, Orda.kz reports.
The two other deceased crew members, Nurzhigit Uysinbayev and Bakhtiyar Yerzhigitov, were found in recent days.
On August 12, the body of Captain Aman Amangeldy, an experienced pilot who had flown in challenging weather conditions and taken part in operations of various scales, was recovered.
“He was distinguished by high professional discipline and an impeccable service record. His flight time on the EC-145 helicopter totaled 295 hours,” the ministry noted.
The search operation continues in the Sorbulaq reservoir area, where fragments of the aircraft were found. Divers and recovery teams are still retrieving wreckage from the water.
The cause of the crash is under investigation. The helicopter disappeared from radar on July 25 in the Jambyl region. Using satellite data, search teams identified a possible location of the aircraft and deployed immediately.
All three crew members who were on board have now been found.
