Bektenov Held Operational Meeting after Toqayev’s Instructions
Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov gathered the heads of key ministries to discuss measures to protect military and civilian facilities in the worsening international situation, Orda.kz reports, citing the Prime Minister's press service.
President Qasym-Jomart Toqayev's instructions regarding bolstering the security of strategically important facilities were a vital part of the discussion.
Defense Minister Ruslan Jaqsylyqov reported on the work to protect infrastructure. He received specific tasks to strengthen such operations. Among the priorities are stability in society, transport safety, uninterrupted operations of strategic support systems, and maintaining order.
The meeting was held with the heads of the ministries of defense, internal affairs, emergency situations, foreign affairs, health, transport, energy, industry and construction, national economy, and finance.
Bektenov stressed the importance of prompt work by all departments, instructing them to keep the situation under strict control and immediately respond to any changes.
Government agencies must coordinate their actions to protect people and infrastructure during these difficult times.
Russian President Vladimir Putin had previously made an emergency statement criticizing the US decision to allow Ukraine to use long-range weapons to strike at Russian territory.
He emphasized that the Ukrainian Armed Forces had already used ATACMS missiles against Russia. The Russian side, in turn, launched a new intermediate-range ballistic missile, as confirmed by Putin in his statement.
Putin regarded such actions as significant shifts in the nature of the confrontation, and the conflict had now acquired a global scale.
