Azerbaijan authorities have viewed Ramzan Kadyrov's statement regarding the AZAL aircraft crash as belated, though they deemed his response acceptable, Orda reports, citing The Caucasian Knot.
Despite their timing, the Azerbaijani government has acknowledged Kadyrov's decision to honor the AZAL flight attendants and his expression of condolences.
The investigation has shown, and the Azerbaijani side also has precise information, that the Chechen leadership had neither fault nor participation in this, an official explained.
The source attributed responsibility for the aircraft incident to Russian military personnel, according to Trend News Agency.
On February 27, Ramzan Kadyrov announced he would award the "For Merit to the Chechen Republic" honor to the surviving flight attendants of the Embraer E190, Zulfugar Asadov and Aydan Rahimli.
Additionally, Kadyrov stated that a memorial plaque commemorating the victims of the plane crash will be installed in Grozny.
