Armenia Didn't Make 2024 CSTO Contribution

The country did not make a contribution for 2024, abstaining from signing a decision on the organization’s budget, Orda.kz reports.
Yerevan has already officially notified the Secretariat of the Collective Security Treaty Organization.
The Armenian side officially notified the CSTO Secretariat that it refrains from signing the decision 'On the CSTO budget for 2024' and, accordingly, from participating in the financing of the organization's activities, The Armenian Ministry of Internal Affairs reported to Sputnik Armenia.
The Russian Foreign Ministry does not rule out that if Armenia does not make a contribution by the end of 2025, other members of the Organization may initiate discussions on the matter.
The CSTO budget decision determines how much each member country must contribute to the organization's general fund for 2024. These funds go toward the structure's functioning: maintaining headquarters, conducting exercises, funding programs, etc.
In February 2024, Armenia suspended its membership in the CSTO and later announced its possible complete withdrawal from the organization. The country's Prime Minister has previously stated that the organization's member countries failed to fulfill their obligations after Azerbaijan's advances into Armenian territory in 2022.
Yerevan's parliament recently supported the bill on the intention to join the European Union.
