AmCham Russia Calls for Lifting Aviation Sanctions, Citing Humanitarian Concerns - RBK

Robert Agee, President and CEO of the American Chamber of Commerce in Russia (AmCham Russia), spoke in an interview with RBK about which sanctions the American (and overall foreign) business community hopes to see lifted first, Orda reports.
He highlighted the "aviation" sanctions, which prohibit the servicing of Western passenger aircraft in Russia and the supply of aircraft parts.
Our primary request is the removal of sanctions in the aviation sector — this includes the supply of spare parts and aircraft maintenance. This is less about business interests and more of a humanitarian necessity, as ordinary citizens are the ones most affected, Agee emphasized.
He also noted that AmCham Russia is working with the French-Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry on this issue.
AmCham Russia members also advocate lifting the U.S. ban on new investments in Russia, imposed in 2022, as it hinders business expansion. They also seek the removal of restrictions on luxury goods imports, including cosmetics.
Additionally, AmCham Russia urges lifting sanctions on Russian banks to facilitate cross-border payments.
