Three tiger cubs born at Almaty Zoo have been given the names Alan, Arlan and Tarlan, Orda.kz reports.
The cubs were born on January 11 to Amur tigers Bentley and Yarga, but spent their first months indoors with their mother and were not shown to the public.
The tiger cubs are now two and a half months old. They are still drinking their mother’s milk, but have already started trying meat. Most importantly, they have now gone out into the large enclosure.
The zoo invited Almaty residents to suggest names for the cubs through social media. The final choice was made by staff from the Predatory Mammals Department, who settled on Alan, Arlan and Tarlan.
