Alexander Lukashenko Sworn In for Seventh Term as President of Belarus

Alexander Lukashenko officially began his seventh term as President of Belarus during an inauguration ceremony held in Minsk on March 25, Orda.kz reports, citing Belarus Segodnya.
The presidential election was held on January 26. According to the Central Election Commission, Lukashenko won with 86.82% of the vote. The inauguration, held two months later, was attended by around 1,100 guests.
On January 26, we crossed another historical crossroads. We passed it confidently and wisely, without turning off the road we have been walking for a third of a century.Lukashenko said during his address.
Lukashenko has led Belarus since July 1994, following the country’s first-ever presidential elections. His current term marks more than 30 years in power.
