Construction of a film pavilion has begun in Kaskelen, where a movie starring Jackie Chan will be the first project to be filmed, Orda.kz reports.
A time capsule signed by the actor was delivered by helicopter from Hong Kong.
The project is being financed privately. The first pavilions will cover an area of 2,000 square meters. According to the organizers, the studio will meet the standards of the world’s largest film studios.
The first project at the new site will be “Armor of God 4: Ultimatum” starring Jackie Chan. Li Chiu Wa, the franchise’s executive producer, took part in the capsule-laying ceremony.
This facility is important both for the culture and for the economy of our country. said Marat Sultangaziyev, akim of Almaty Region.
The project’s initiators expect the pavilion to strengthen Kazakhstan’s position as a Central Asian film industry leader and attract foreign film crews.
