On Facebook, Political scientist Dosym Satpayev wrote a post on the events that have occurred since Sherzat Polat's death, Orda.kz reports.
The Talgar tragedy is a reflection of all of Kazakhstan, where it is not the one who is right, but the one who has more rights. Where lawlessness reigns, where people experience injustice from the authorities, where corruption has been absorbed into the flesh and blood of the public administration system at different levels, where the criminalization of consciousness turns an official into a kingpin, and kingpins into friends of officials," Dosym Satpayev wrote.
Satpayev also says that over the past 30 years, tragedies similar to the one in Talgar have occurred in Kazakhstan.
It’s just that most of them didn’t become public; in some cases, they put pressure on the victims of crimes; in others, government officials hid all of this so as not to spoil their statistics, he added.
The political scientist says the publicity of what happened in Talgar became irritating for officials.
Incidentally, the harsh behavior of the authorities towards the victims (without the slightest compassion for the people's grief), towards the killed young man's father and his other relatives indicates that officials are irritated by the very fact of the publicity of this case, that the whole country is watching it and it is difficult to hide many things, and their ineffective work is seen by all of Kazakhstan. We should not forget that pressure is also being put on all those who are investigating this crime from above. But they are not putting pressure in order to achieve justice. On the contrary, so that everything would be finished and forgotten as quickly as possible, as the Talgar tragedy negatively affects the image of the entire government, Dosym Satpayev said.
Talgar has been under the spotlight after the homicide of 16-year-old Sherzat Polat. A few days later, his family's house burned down.
This week, reports surfaced that the teenager's uncle, Nurganat Gaiypbayev, had died. The official version is suicide.
After Gaiypbayev's funeral, Sherzat Polat's father, Karzhaubay Nurymov, was detained for disorderly conduct. Yesterday, a criminal case was opened against him.
