12 Judges in Kazakhstan May Face Dismissal

The reasons for the dismissal were announced during a recent meeting of the Supreme Judicial Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Orda.kz reports.
The meeting summed up the competition results for 207 vacancies of judges of district and equivalent courts from among 237 candidates.
126 individuals received recommendations for positions as judges in district and equivalent courts. Among them, 98 were lawyers recommended for the first time, while 28 were current judges, the report says.
A total of 91 judges were added to the personnel reserve, while 12 were recommended for dismissal. The main reasons for the dismissals included:
- 1 judge dismissed due to a guilty court verdict
- 3 judges resigned
- 5 judges stepped down at their own will
- 3 judges were dismissed for disciplinary violations
