Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Economy Serik Zhumangarin outlined how a newly formed working group under the Presidential Administration is working to optimize Kazakhstan’s state budget, Orda.kz reports.
Zhumangarin, who leads the group, explained:
We have prepared a number of proposals for today. In the near future, we will probably agree on them, and their implementation will begin. First of all, we will reduce the subordinate organizations, reduce the number of people in these subordinate organizations, put moratoriums on increasing the number of people in state organizations, new construction, buildings, structures, and so on and so forth. Well, all the standard procedures. Now this work is in progress, but not only in our area.
He also noted that the government had decided against allocating state funds to support the Astana International Economic Forum, with the event to be financed entirely by sponsors.
