Speaking during a visit to Khmelnytskyi NPP, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized that Ukraine will not accept bilateral negotiations about its future without its participation, Orda reports, citing Suspilne.
Zelenskyy also stressed the importance of European involvement in ceasefire talks.
Everyone understands that America, Ukraine and Russia - such a format of negotiations is possible. And where is Europe? I am also very interested in Europe. Today, we cannot predict how this will be, but we must be strong, Zelenskyy stated.
Regarding his "good" conversation with former US President Trump, Zelenskyy revealed Trump's impression that Putin wanted peace and an end to the war. Zelenskyy responded:
And he said: 'I know what you want.' I replied that you are talking to Putin as the leader of Russia, and I am talking to you and think of him as an enemy. And it seems to me that I am in a greater reality, so I do not trust it. That is, in the conversation he did not say that Putin and Russia were a priority for him, and today we trust these words... So, I do not perceive this call as a signal that Russia was a priority for him. Although, of course, this is not very pleasant in any case, because you know how Ukrainian society reacts. Ukraine without Ukraine is impossible
While no date has been set for a meeting with Trump, Zelenskyy expressed hope that such talks would precede any meeting with Putin.
