Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has signed a law to expand the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), strengthening its special operations center "Alpha," which carried out the recent Operation SpiderWeb, Orda.kz reports.

According to Ukrainska Pravda, the law raises the SBU’s total personnel from 27,000 to 37,000 in peacetime, and from 31,000 to 41,000 during wartime.

The Alpha unit will replace the current counterterrorism and witness protection divisions and will number 10,000 officers under both conditions.
