Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has dismissed reports that he is prepared to exchange territory for peace with Russia, Orda.kz reports, citing Interfax-Ukraine.
The Telegraph wrote that I am ready for an exchange of territories. I have not spoken with The Telegraph. But I am experienced enough to understand how the information field is prepared. They throw out: ‘Is Ukraine ready to exchange...’ Then they watch the reactions of certain people, civil society, bloggers, journalists, the population. The appropriate information ground is simply being prepared,Zelenskyy told journalists.
He stressed that he has no intention of surrendering the country, pointing out that neither the state nor any part of its territory is someone’s private property.
“The exchange of territories is a very complex issue that cannot be separated from security guarantees for Ukraine, for our sovereign state and our people,” he said.
The Telegraph had earlier claimed, citing its own sources, that before upcoming talks between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin in Alaska on August 15, Zelenskyy had softened his stance on territorial concessions — provided Russia did not gain more land than it already controls.
