Work Continues at Site Planned for Park on Former Presidential Residence Grounds

Orda.kz readers have sent in photos and videos taken near the fence of the future park being built in central Almaty, on the site of the former presidential residence.
The footage shows that construction banners have been removed from the fences, and workers seem to be completing preparations, using grinders to finish metal structures around the perimeter.
As a reminder, the decision to build a park on the site of the residence destroyed during the January 2022 events was made in the spring of that same year. Active construction only began in 2025.
In late April, Orda.kz used a drone to look over the fenced-off area. At that time, it was still unclear whether the future park’s layout would match any of the design renderings unveiled in 2022.
