Woman in Niqab Assaulted in Atyrau Apartment Building

In Atyrau, a man physically assaulted a woman wearing a niqab near an apartment building elevator, Orda.kz reports.
Surveillance footage shows the man striking the woman several times on the head. After she falls, he continues the assault while she is on the floor. He then leaves the building.
The identity and current condition of the woman have not yet been confirmed. Police have not issued an official statement regarding the incident.
In a separate case, authorities in Astana are investigating a recent fatal incident in which a man killed his former partner and injured her younger brother in an apartment in the Millennium Park residential complex.
