Wild Arman Reportedly Injured in Detention, Officials Deny Serious Condition
Arman Dzhumageldiev, known as Wild Arman, who was recently sentenced to 20 years for organizing mass riots in January 2022, was supposedly injured while in the National Security Committee detention center, Orda.kz reports.
Yevgeny Yavorsky, the convict's lawyer, made this claim.
Today, I received insider information about an incident involving Dzhumageldiev. What exactly happened to him is still unclear, but according to my information, he is in serious condition. I would like to officially address the Prosecutor General to provide us with complete information. What exactly happened to him? Did it happen at all? Did he receive stab wounds? We want to know what's happening with him, said Yavorsky.
The Penal Enforcement System Committee (KUIS) denied the lawyer's claims about Arman Dzhumageldiev being in serious condition.
The convict inflicted minor wounds on himself. Medical assistance was provided immediately. His health condition is satisfactory, the statement reads.
Dzhumageldiev is under special monitoring, and psychologists are working with him.
KUIS has initiated an internal investigation into the incident.
